Abstract
Background:
In recent years, Given the limitations of current therapies, there is a pressing need for novel approaches that can effectively regenerate damaged neural tissue, replace lost neurons, and promote functional recovery in neurological disorders to encourage balance, gait training, sensory awareness, cognition and psychological training in these patients. Integrated Virtual reality system and robotics are two innovative forms of rehabilitation technology that have been added to conventional physical therapy.

Objective: A narrative review was conducted to ascertain the role of Computer Assisted Rehabilitation Environment (CAREN) which uses a fully immersive advanced virtual reality on improving balance, gait training, sensory awareness, cognition and psychological training in neurological disorders rehabilitation.

Methods: The review was carried out for full-text studies that investigated the role of the Computer Assisted Rehabilitation System in neurological disorders rehabilitation published until March 2025 using the following databases (PubMed, Science Direct, Scopus, Web of Science, and Pedro databases) using the following terms (CAREN, computer assisted rehabilitation environment, virtual reality, neurological disorders, neurological rehabilitation) .

Results: Studies included in this review was 25 study and they indicated that CREAN has a positive role on balance, gait training, sensory awareness, cognition and psychological training in neurological disorders rehabilitation.

Discussion: Based on results from the studies, CAREN is a cutting-edge technology that creates virtual environments. Virtual reality (VR)has become a highly promising and effective technology for rehabilitation. It enhances balance training by combining cognitive, motor, and well-being skills with the capacity to handle multisensorial characteristics in a safe environment. It is accurate, dependable and useful for both assessment and treatment.

Conclusion:
CAREN has a positive role and can be used as a tool in neurological disorders rehabilitation that combines motor, cognitive, and psychological training and enhances balance training and the capacity to control multisensory aspects in a secure setting.
